Start of Final Task

So, I see your back. To reintroduce myself, I’m Haylie. I go to Fort Lauderdale High School and am currently enrolled in AICE Media Studies. But of course you know that or else you wouldn’t be reading this right now. I just turned 16 and I’m in 10th grade, a sophomore. Some of my hobbies include dance, listening to music, and hanging out with my friends. I have done ballet practically my whole life and it has become a part of me. I work really hard in school and try to achieve the best grades possible, though it’s very difficult considering I am in 4 AICE classes, and 3 Honors classes. I definitely don’t get enough sleep and it is currently 10:19 pm, so I’m clearly not getting any better at that. Although I know you want to know every detail of my life story, I’m afraid we’ll have to get into that later, now it’s time to delve into the Final Task.
This course, though it’s only been about 4 months, has taught me a lot. I thought I knew all that i need to for this class but it turned out I was wrong. I have learned so much about different shots. Each shot effects how an idea is portrayed in film. I never thought we’re that important, until i learned that were VERY important. I also learned how to edit and to produce a movie from footage. I’m excited to learn more about the distribution aspect of film. It’s really interesting to me how there are so many companies absorbed all into just a few. I don’t know much about this yet, but I can’t wait until we learn more about it in class. The only thing I know right about distribution right now is that it happens, one way or another.
A pitch is a hollywood term to describe an idea where a film condensed into 25 words or less. They are usually only one sentence long. The purpose of this is so that you can describe your film idea very quickly and get your point across. For our Final Task we had 3 pitch ideas:
- A woman, who is undercover, discovers some major information on a very impactful person.
- 2 people racing each other on the beach, but they then discover a message in the bottle. What they find inside would change their whole lives.
- A person steals something from a store in a mall, someone sees them do it, but do they tell?
